NPA CEO Launches NAPET Ladies Week, Champions Women's Empowerment

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, has reaffirmed the Authority's commitment to women's empowerment following the official launch of the 2026 NAPET Ladies Week celebration.

Speaking during the launch on Monday, Mr. Tameklo described the initiative as a "day of impact" and expressed confidence that the week-long celebration would leave a lasting legacy within both the Authority and Ghana's wider energy sector.

Held under the theme "Women Leading Change: Promoting Sustainability and Cultural Heritage," the programme celebrates the critical role women play in driving transformation across the petroleum industry.

Activities scheduled from April 20 to April 24 include a donation to Maamobi General Hospital, a cooking competition, a follow-up tree planting exercise, and a closing karaoke event designed to strengthen staff engagement.

The ceremony brought together management and staff of the National Petroleum Authority, as well as representatives from key institutions including the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the Ministry of Energy, the Petroleum Commission, and the Ghana National Gas Company.

Acting Chairperson of NAPET Ladies, Evelyn Mensa, highlighted the importance of unity and the growing influence of women within the sector. NPA Director of Human Resources, Sedinam Afua Charity Mammara, encouraged women to strive for excellence, embrace leadership opportunities, and continue making meaningful contributions to the petroleum industry.
