WLGA Delegation Visits NPA, Commends Ghana's Gas Sector Progress

The Chief Advocacy Officer and Deputy Managing Director of the World Liquid Gas Association (WLGA), Michael Kelly, has paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, to discuss recent developments within Ghana's gas sector.

During the meeting held on Monday, Mr. Kelly commended the NPA's leadership and Ghana's continued progress in regulating the gas industry, describing the country as a benchmark for other nations across Sub-Saharan Africa.

He particularly praised the implementation of Ghana's Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM), noting that the initiative has significantly enhanced safety and operational efficiency within the country's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) distribution system.

Mr. Kelly also extended an invitation to the National Petroleum Authority to participate in the upcoming "Clean Cooking for Life Forum," which is scheduled to take place in Accra.

Responding to the delegation, Mr. Tameklo reaffirmed the Authority's commitment to expanding nationwide access to LPG while strengthening safety measures, regulatory standards, and consumer protection across the sector.

He further emphasized that strategic partnerships remain essential to driving innovation, sustainable growth, and improved energy access, adding that Ghana will continue positioning itself as a regional leader in effective gas industry regulation.
